Speaker 1 00:00:03 You are listening to Podcast Insider, hosted by Mike Dell, Todd Cochran, and McKenzie Bennett from the Blueberry team, bringing you weekly insights, advice, and insider tips and tricks to help you start, grow and thrive through podcasting. With all the support of your team here at Blueberry Podcasting, welcome. Let's dive in. Hi, welcome to Podcast Insider. I'm Mike Dell, the VP of Customer Relations at Blueberry. And today I have a special guest, Wess Olsson. Wess, how you doing?

Speaker 2 00:00:39 I'm doing fantastic, thank you. How are you?

Speaker 1 00:00:42 Good. And Wess is one of the hosts of the Beer Bourbon and Balder Dash. Or did I get that backwards?

Speaker 2 00:00:48 Oh, you got it. It's right. We like our, yeah, we like that. Beer, bourbon and Bald Dash.

Speaker 1 00:00:52 What we always like to do when we interview people on Podcast Insider, this being the fifth episode of a month. Tell me how you guys started this podcast or, or what was the genesis of the idea?

Speaker 2 00:01:06 Yeah, so basically over uh, a lot of beer and bourbon, we have lots of philosophical conversations as it were talking about everything that's going on in the world. And John and I are not necessarily people who see eye to eye on every issue. So sometimes it can be heated, never in a nasty way. If we yell, we'll laugh 'cause it's just funny that we're yelling at one another and we thought, this is really good bar talk. This is good, this is good stuff. And, and maybe for something for him and I to continue to do AKA drink, we would start a podcast and be able to just to share it with whoever. 'cause maybe some other people kind of like the back and forth and they like the conversations that we're having. And since we're already doing it, we could just do it in front of each other, headphones and microphone and make it as awkward as possible. .

Speaker 1 00:01:55 Yeah, that's, that's fun. Yeah. I listen to you guys now for a couple months and thank you. And yeah, it's a fun show. It's never the same every episode, so that's good. . Yeah. But yeah, I do a similar thing with a friend of mine. We don't record it, but we call it solving the world's problems. We go to the bar and talk over the table for a couple hours and , but I always often thought it'd be cool to put a recorder in the middle and get us on the mic, but I don't think he'd go for it.

Speaker 2 00:02:26 Yeah, it seems like these ideas come up after you've had a few anyways, so who knows if they're really great ideas, but we thought we'd tried anyways.

Speaker 1 00:02:34 Good. Good idea at the time. That's, that's how that works. So you guys were our podcaster of the month for November.

Speaker 2 00:02:40 Thank you. Oh yes. We appreciate that. Yeah.

Speaker 1 00:02:43 And one of the reasons is, first off, I nominated you guys, but

Speaker 2 00:02:47 Your money's in the mail. Yeah.

Speaker 1 00:02:49 Don't worry about that. . I'm sure all the fame and fortune is worth it. One, one of the other reasons is you guys are one of the, one of the podcasters we have that really utilize the podcasting 2.0 stuff, the podcast index.org thing that Dave and Adam uh, do. Yep. And of course, blueberries embraced it. And you guys moved to us specifically because of that.

Speaker 2 00:03:15 Yeah, I was going through all the new podcast apps on new podcast apps.com and I was using another hosting company and it looked promising that they were going to embrace a lot of the podcasting 2.0 features and they ended up switching to do more YouTube oriented stuff, which is fine. Mm-Hmm. . But that's not where I felt like we should probably go. So I asked around and another podcaster named Meas who does Fun Fact Friday and the Meatus pod talked to him. He helped me up with a few things with setting up a live radio and all that kind of stuff. But I asked him about hosting platforms and he suggested for me to go look up you guys and you specifically and contact you specifically. And that's what led me to Blueberry. And I've been happy and I just love all the innovations and stuff that you guys are doing and it forced me to embrace more of this and kind of use more of it 'cause that's what I was looking for. But at the same time, there's a learning curve, which you guys have made it very easy. It's, it's not as hard as I thought it was going to be.

Speaker 1 00:04:21 A lot of what we're trying to do with podcasting 2.0 that's, it's a very geeky thing. And not all podcasters are geeky. In fact, I would say the vast majority are not. Right. So what we try to do with it is take a geeky thing and make it into a feature that is easily understandable. And that's been our goal all along, uh, with any of this stuff is we, we don't necessarily say it's Podcast 2.0 like our transcript service. It's that is because of Podcast 2.0. But we don't call it that. We just call it transcripts. Right. And that confuses people less than, than, well you got to have the transcript tag and it has to be an SRT format that bores people.

Speaker 2 00:05:11 That would probably confuse me too. Right. I'd probably say, what do I have to do? Yeah. I mean the more I learn about it the easier it becomes. But yes. At at first that would've probably been like, I don't

Speaker 1 00:05:20 Know. Right. Which features are you guys using? As of right now?

Speaker 2 00:05:25 I really like chapters. I like being able to uh, point right to where we do our beer review or a bourbon review or even our topic for the night. And then that way when I send it to either the distillery that we're reviewing their beer or the other distillery that we're reviewing the bourbon, when I take them, they can see that there's a chapter specifically where we talk about their libation Mm-Hmm. . And I think that's very important. And then I put in some artwork. Uh, most of the time it's AI generated 'cause I don't have time to draw the artwork. And that really helps too because then there's a visual aspect to it that I really appreciate. I also like using the lit tag, so I do understand that tag. So I like it when I go live. I can just set it to pending first and then to live when we actually go live.

Speaker 2 00:06:20 And that will send it out to the podcast apps. I really like Fountain and Pod verse. Those are two that I've really kind of enjoy using as far as podcast two capabilities. And you'll see the live take come up and anyone that's on there or anyone that follow us, they can see that we're live. And I really appreciate that, especially with Fountain. It'll say live, but it'll also say, it won't say pending, but it'll say what time Mm-Hmm. that we're going live. 'cause I put all that information in. So that's really great for me because then that tells all of our producers and listeners, Hey, we know what time they're going on and we try to keep the live time consistent, but that's all over the place.

Speaker 1 00:06:57 Sure. Yeah. We tried doing live with this show during Covid and uh, we just did a Facebook Live or whatever and video thing and, and we didn't have any way to let our subscribers know. And, uh, now with this lit tag or the live item tag. Yep. But basically it's a live notification that goes out via pod pinging. That's another technology that sprung from Podcasting 2.0, which is implemented in all three of our RSS feed generation systems here at Blueberry. But it makes apps update nearly instantly and also allows the live notifications and a few other cool tricks.

Speaker 2 00:07:42 Yeah. And you don't get that with other legacy apps, so. Right. I think that was a, a very cool thing if you want to really dive into the live thing, which was new for us this year as well by switching to you guys, is to start doing the live stuff. So it, it really enabled us to do that without it being a huge learning curve. It's actually really simple.

Speaker 1 00:08:01 Yeah. I I do believe you guys are doing value for value as well.

Speaker 2 00:08:06 Oh yes. Yep. We do value for value as well. And we, and I actually recently, I had my German neighbor Max on, that's what I call him, German neighbor Max . And he really is my neighbor lives right next door. Not all the time 'cause he is usually flying around the planet. 'cause he's, he does freight and he has a band and I had their band on, I played their song on the podcast. Mm-Hmm. But I was able to do a value split

Speaker 1 00:08:33 Mm.

Speaker 2 00:08:34 On the episode. And that was really awesome because then anyone that uh, gave us Satoshis or donated through the value for value, some of that went to them. And that was really cool. So now when I'm thinking about, oh, I can have other guests on and if they're kinda like, I don't know if I wanna be on your weird podcast, I could say, Hey, but you might get some crypto. Yeah. And they're usually like, what's crypto? And then it's a whole cool conversation I get to have with

Speaker 1 00:08:59 Them. Yeah. And, and we're, we're just about to release value time split, which is where if you just play a song from somebody that has a albea counter fountain, a counter, any sort of lightning address for Satoshi's, you can set a time kinda like chapters. In fact it looks very much like the chapter builder that we have. And you can say, okay, we played the song from three minutes and 12 seconds to six minutes and 15 seconds. So during that time, any Satoshis that come in gets split with that artist makes things like Adam's new show, uh, Boosto Gram Ball. That's how he does things. Each song that he plays, the any value that comes in gets split with the, uh, artist during the time that song is playing. And that's not live. That's while you're listening to it in your app. Mm-Hmm. one of the new apps that do that does the, uh, does the value for value, but most of 'em will do it because it switches that to value block around as you go. I know we're getting geeky.

Speaker 2 00:10:10 That's great. I think it's important that you say that because one of the things that John and I wanted to do and we still want to do is that if, 'cause I listen to songs who Wave Lake, I listen to Ellen Beats, there's some great stuff out there. So if you would never hear, and they're fantastic artists and they're obviously, they don't want to be part of the whole corporate thing or Mm-Hmm. whatnot. Mm-Hmm. . And if we played as if we did, like we play a song like, John, I heard this song this week. What do you think of it? And we play the song and then we get to talk about it. It's content, but we're also supporting that musician. Right. That's fantastic. And that's kind of what I wanted to do. And I, I couldn't think about how I would do that other than giving them 30% of the whole show. Right. Yeah. So now I can think about what I want to give them for that chapter that would support them for that moment that we, or those few moments, minutes that we played their music. So yeah, I think it was

Speaker 1 00:11:04 Fantastic. Like with Adam's show, he plays the song and if people like it, they boost during that song that directly helps the artist. But of course we also have a new thing. It, it's already out pod roll and remote item. If you're talking about a certain podcast on your podcast, like we're talking about your show on our show right now. Right. I could put in a remote item to your show and then people would on certain apps would be able to, oh hey, I've heard about that show. Let's get it right there in the app. A recommendation for your show or a particular episode. Yeah. And also pod roll as part of that. And again, this is the, the podcast insider show. So I gotta talk about Blueberry a little bit. . Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 2 00:11:50 Gotta be a native ad. It's your show. It has to be

Speaker 1 00:11:54 . Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. . But

Speaker 2 00:11:56 No, it's good because those are the reasons why I went to Blueberry. So that's why I think it's important that you talk about it because it's important for anyone that wants to start or create a podcast to check you guys out and to see all that you have to offer and that you're embracing. And then of course, you guys have been very helpful if I have questions. So that's, I just messed with the pod roll while you were talking just to see if it works. Because when I do my podcast later tonight, I will mention that we were on the podcast Insider and I'll put your show on the podcast roll. Right.

Speaker 1 00:12:27 And then if you wanted to later on you could add it, add this episode to your remote item.

Speaker 2 00:12:32 There you go.

Speaker 1 00:12:33 Yeah. And that, that's kind of cool.

Speaker 2 00:12:35 That's under the add r add to RSS feed, right?

Speaker 1 00:12:38 Yeah, exactly. And you put in the ti title of the show and then it'll give you the episodes. You click that, click the episode you wanna reference and it's forever in your, in your feed. . That's cool.

Speaker 2 00:12:49 That's cool.

Speaker 1 00:12:50 Yeah. It's, I love that. Like I said, podcasting hadn't really advanced a hell of a lot in the first 10 years, 15 years. So maybe even more than that. And then this whole podcasting 2.0 initiative and there's been other initiatives out there to improve RSS, which is the basis of podcasting. I know most podcasters don't care about it at that level, but that's the technology behind how it all works. Yep. And there hasn't been anything new until the last few years when Adam and Dave got this project going Podcast Index. Mm-Hmm. and the, uh, podcast Namespace Sexy named Space Talk, as they say, . But, so now we have these features and it's getting slow, but Sure. Uptake some legacy apps are now embracing some of the, the new features. Uh, podcast Addict is one that's been around a long time on Android and they're embracing, uh, the live tag and a few other tags. Not all apps are gonna use all of the features. Sure. But then there's some that do, like pod fans, holy crepe, he's got everything. I mean, everything and that's cool. Yeah. And the community around it is really cool. We have a Mastodon instance for Podcast Index and that's, it's all the app developers and podcast hosting companies and some of the geek developers that are doing apps. And it's, and that's where they hash out the stuff about Yeah. What's gonna be added. But enough geekery .

Speaker 2 00:14:31 Well, I mean, it's good. I, I actually enjoy listening to this stuff. I really do.

Speaker 1 00:14:36 Very good. Very good. But tell me a little more about your podcast. What, what kind of things do you guys cover and do you get any cool freebies? Because you're talking about bourbon and beer

Speaker 2 00:14:47 once we only had one time I actually reached out to another producer of No Agenda, who I found out has a distillery in New Jersey. And I said, Hey, is there any way I can buy your bourbon and review it on the podcast? And he sent us, he said, here, value for Value, yeah. Go and sent it to us. And we thank, thankfully it was good. So we could honestly say it was good. We don't lie on our podcast. We don't edit. The only thing I edit is I edit whatever I put on the beginning. Like whatever little silly thing that we say. Other than that I don't edit anything. I really don't. And I enjoy that part because it's genuine. And we have another brewery in the UK that reached out to me recently and they would like to send us some beer and for us to review. And so I was really excited about that. And looking at our statistics on the Blueberry dashboard, um, or actually also on, on the Blueberry podcast stats app, I could see that we're quite international. I don't understand that

Speaker 1 00:15:53 Think, well, beer and bourbon's popular everywhere, , I

Speaker 2 00:15:56 Mean we have like so many, we have hundreds of listens in Argentina and we don't understand that. And so we keep saying, because really what John and I, the value that we get is not that him and I get to spend time together every week. 'cause he lives part-time in Rhode Island and then the other half here in Seattle. But we want to build a community. 'cause we're very personable people. So if people wanna reach out to us or they want to talk to us, or they want to talk to us about the beer or bourbon, or if they got suggestions and they want to hear our takes, if they have a want to be on the podcast because they like a certain beer or a bourbon, we kind of see it as a bit of a bar talk in which, like you said, you solve all the world's problems.

Speaker 2 00:16:39 You meet interesting people that you wouldn't meet before necessarily. You get other perspectives sometimes. And so that's something that we're constantly thinking about and want to evolve. And so if anyone's listening to this and they like beer and bourbon, they can reach out to me and we would love to have them and just chit chat. We do have a phone number. We do have listeners that call into our podcast every now and then. Oh, neat. Yeah. We use Void Zero's Network for chat. So we have a, a room, a channel if you will, through, uh, the No Agenda Void Zero. And we have people that go on there and they'll chat with

Speaker 1 00:17:14 Us Troll Room as the, as Adam says, right. . That's

Speaker 2 00:17:18 Right. The troll room. And so yeah. So we, we try to use as much that's out there so that we can connect with people. That's really kind of our biggest thing. We're just, we're people.

Speaker 1 00:17:28 Yeah. Yeah. Very cool. Like I said, I've actually tried a couple of bourbons because of your show .

Speaker 2 00:17:34 Nice. Don't anyone particular that you can remember? I don't wanna put you on the spot in this. Yeah.

Speaker 1 00:17:38 I don't remember. Yeah. , to be honest with you. Okay, that's fine. But we have a pretty good shop around here that, that has a lot of stuff from around the country. Sure. And we can, you know, could try that. And we, we have distilleries and breweries and stuff. Michigan's a pretty big brewery. Yeah. State, what sort of topics do you guys usually talk about other than beer and bourbon?

Speaker 2 00:18:00 Yeah, so beer and bourbon is just kind of our way of getting into a conversation. Kinda like when you would be at a bar and you'd say, oh, I really like this beer. And you'd talk about it or whatever. And then you kind of get into a mode where you talk about other things. So we try to pick topics that are something that's kind of on our mind. A lot of them might be self-improvement stuff. So mental health stuff, how to have a, a sharper mind, a more secure mind, things like that. And, and sometimes things that as men we like to talk about with being vulnerable or sharing our feelings. And then every now and then we'll throw in a wild UFO one or a Project Bluebeam one, or I like to go down some wild conspiracies. John is much more rational person than I am in that regard. He's, uh, he is, everything's got an explanation for the most part. And I appreciate that about him. I love that about him. And I'm very much, oh, let's think about how weird this would be. And 'cause I think that's also fun. That's a good exercise for the brain to say. I wonder if, if this is true.

Speaker 1 00:19:05 Yeah. Just, just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you. Right. Yeah, that's right. . That's right.

Speaker 2 00:19:11 They're coming to take me away, huh. So

Speaker 1 00:19:14 Yeah, for sure. Yeah.

Speaker 2 00:19:16 So we try to explore all aspects honestly. Um, it's sometimes hard to come up with topics is you want to be interesting and you want to be somewhat relevant and you want something that maybe all people can maybe enjoy and you have to make it kind of natural. I used to teach for about a decade or so, I used to teach middle school and high school students and I was a youth pastor as well. So trying to be engaging and relevant and say things in a particular way that might catch an audience is kind of important. And it doesn't always work out, but you know, you get better at it as you go along, I guess you could say.

Speaker 1 00:19:56 Sure. Yeah. That's, uh, yeah, thinking up topics for a podcast, if you think about it ahead of time sometimes doesn't work out if it just, uh, something that happens in natural conversation. I never script when I do interviews like this, I don't have a set questions and all that. And I try to let the interviewee talk because you don't wanna hear from me the whole time. Come on, . Exactly. Yeah. , that's the great interviewers out there. Regardless of what you think of the guy. See, now I'm drawing a blank. Howard Stern, he is probably one of the best interviewers out there. 'cause he gets stuff out of people that you wouldn't normally get. And that's something. And a lot of times when he's interviewing somebody, you don't hear from him for five minutes at a time, which almost never happens on a podcast interview.

Speaker 2 00:20:52 Yeah, exactly. I thought Joe Rogan was exactly the same way, I think.

Speaker 1 00:20:55 Yeah. He's really good too. For sure.

Speaker 2 00:20:57 Just, yeah, be quiet and, and just ask a question and ask and continue to asking questions. As an inquisitive person, I think that's what's probably

Speaker 1 00:21:04 Important. Listen, , right? That's another thing. If somebody's got all their questions wrote out, they might just be thinking about the next question and miss an opportunity to follow up on something.

Speaker 2 00:21:15 Right? Yeah.

Speaker 1 00:21:16 Yeah. See we, we'll be helpful on this, on this show yet, right? Yeah. Yeah. ,

Speaker 2 00:21:21 Your last couple episodes talked about this exact same thing. And those are things that John and I had to get better at as well was we need to have a set date that we record. That's kind of important. Just we wanna do live that way. Everyone kind of thinks, oh, this day at this time, which is, right now it's 4:00 PM Pacific time on Wednesdays. 'cause that seems to work out best for both of us, especially when he's on the East Coast. Mm-Hmm. , because I'm in Seattle and I always publish the podcast or have the podcast ready to be published on Mondays. Yes. So Monday mornings everyone knows the podcast will be out and they can go ahead and listen to it. And so I try to keep that steady, try to keep a steady schedule as much as possible. And with topics and stuff like that, I, we do keep a log, which I think is important.

Speaker 2 00:22:13 We have a log of all the beers and bourbons we've drank. We have a log of the topics that we've talked about. Sometimes we'll revisit a topic if it's something that I feel like needs more information, I guess you could say. And sometimes I just, on the, on a whim, we just have a night where I'm like, okay, we don't have a topic, so we're just gonna drink and we're gonna shoot it and see how it goes. Sometimes those are the best ones too, because we go down all kinds of rabbit holes. And if you're the listener, maybe you like that. Maybe you're, what are these dinging dongs talking about? I don't understand .

Speaker 1 00:22:42 Yeah. That's the beauty of podcasting. You're not at the level of some sort of like, you watch any cable news. I don't, but if you watch cable news, everything is scripted and timed and, and anything that happens outside of that gets sensationalized. Where in podcasting, whether you're a solo show or, or whatever, it just goes where it goes. You can tell the ones that are highly scripted versus the the down to earth podcasting. Sure. Wondery does wonderful podcasts, but they're highly scripted. NPR does pretty nice podcasts, but they're highly scripted.

Speaker 2 00:23:26 Yeah. And sometimes overproduced, I have to say it. Yeah. Sometimes they're just overproduced. Yeah. You

Speaker 1 00:23:31 Take the wall of sound.

Speaker 2 00:23:32 Yeah. You take, uh, a podcast like No Agenda who has ruined cable news for me. Thank you Adam and John. And you listen to a podcast like that and they've been doing it for so long, it seems like a very highly produced podcast. Not at all.

Speaker 1 00:23:46 No.

Speaker 2 00:23:47 These guys, they just have it down.

Speaker 1 00:23:48 It's funny. Is he, they go for three hours. Yeah.

Speaker 2 00:23:51 .

Speaker 1 00:23:51 Yeah. And they finish at say two o'clock in the afternoon.

Speaker 2 00:23:57 Yep.

Speaker 1 00:23:58 At two 15. It's in the feed. Yep. They clip the ends and it's done. Yep. Whereas like with this show, we actually have a production team that, that goes in and massages it. This one will be out tomorrow. Uh, but that's kind of a short turnaround for them, .

Speaker 2 00:24:17 Sure. And thank you for that, . Hey.

Speaker 1 00:24:18 No, no worries. They said they're up to the task. 'cause so we used to record the day that it came out and they did it. So it's all good. But, you know, ours isn't, I, I wouldn't say highly produced 'cause the actual content doesn't get edited really heavily. Right. But they put in all the stingers and bumpers and cold open and all that stuff and, but most of the time we record up to a couple weeks ahead of time. And these impromptu things, like I said, we always like to take the fifth episode of any month that has five Thursdays and do something different. . That's what we're doing here. Hope you guys enjoy it. I I like talking to Wess. We talked for probably half hour before we started recording. Yeah. I should have recorded. We're chit chatting and, but you know, I don't know how useful that recording would've been. .

Speaker 2 00:25:12 No, but I mean, and I appreciate that too, that, um, I'm very thankful that, uh, actually this month ended up being a fifth Thursday. So that's, that works for me. . Yeah.

Speaker 1 00:25:19 Yeah.

Speaker 2 00:25:21 That works for our little podcast, our little Bar Talk podcast.

Speaker 1 00:25:23 Yeah. Like I said, hopefully we'll get some more people to, to listen. Definitely check them out. What's the website today would go to? I believe you guys are using Power Press, right?

Speaker 2 00:25:33 Yeah, we're using Power Press. And the website is beer bourbon balder dash.com. It's not Ann Balder dash, it's just beer bourbon balder dash.com. Mm-Hmm. . And it's, and if you went to Beer Bourbon Boulder dash , which is sometimes the typo people make, it also redirects to that. So you're safe. And there you'll find all of our episodes and you'll find a link to the radio player that plays like the last five most recent episodes on a loop. Mm. And a link to the chat room. So when we're live, you can click on the link and go to the chat room.

Speaker 1 00:26:09 And I assume that Stream that does the loop is where you go to for listen live, right?

Speaker 2 00:26:15 Yes. Yep.

Speaker 1 00:26:16 Or in an app that, that, uh, does it such as Po verse and Fountain Fountain and Podcast Addict and Podcast Guru. There's a bunch of them.

Speaker 2 00:26:28 . Yeah. Otherwise, the URL for that is listen dot balder live.com. Nice. And that's, yeah, and that was something else that I learned. I think it was through Metis actually. And that was, was there a cast and I set up a anode and all this stuff that's very techy, geeky stuff that is way above my head. The, you know, the cool thing about the podcasting community in whole, especially podcasting 2.0 community, is they're willing to help you. They're willing to jump on a Zoom call with you and walk you through things if you want to implement certain things too. Mm-Hmm. . So it's, I don't, it's hard to, you don't have an excuse If you want to really kind of get into this and make your podcast a little more accessible, there's no excuse. You can do it. It's

Speaker 1 00:27:12 Fantastic. And of course we do that here at Blueberry as well. So Yes,

Speaker 2 00:27:15 You do.

Speaker 1 00:27:16 You're

Speaker 2 00:27:16 Very helpful to me.

Speaker 1 00:27:17 So if you're a customer of Blueberry and you wanna get into some of these new features for Podcast 2.0, get ahold of me or Dave and support, or maybe even Sean Todd likes to help people as well. Get with us, put in ticket over at blueberry.com/support and we'll show you how, what you can do with some of this stuff. I, I had a network that's been with us for a long time and we were talking one day and, uh, I think this guy, I probably do a Zoom call with him once a month just to make sure everything's still running right. He is got about 30 shows on his network, plus he does a live radio thing and all that. And I set him up for value on one of our calls and we set it up on all his shows. And we checked a couple months later and he had a good number of Satoshis built up because there are people that listened to a lot of podcasts on those new apps. And when they find one of their favorite podcasts in there, they, oh, great. I can donate to them. And yeah, I wouldn't say it was substantial, but it, it was something letting people know, Hey, there are people out there actually listening and contributing.

Speaker 2 00:28:36 Yeah. It makes you feel good. It, it, as a podcaster, it makes you feel like, all right, this is great. People want reach out and they want to talk. And I don't, I mean, it, I really don't care about the Satoshi's. What I care about is the feedback. What I care about is the community and the connection. Yeah, that's fantastic. Yeah. The,

Speaker 1 00:28:52 The, the whole thing with the booster grams are kind of cool. 'cause it's kinda like a comment, paid comment. It doesn't have to be a huge amount of money. I mean, like 30 cents is a fair number of Satoshis. Yeah. And, but you get your comment in there and podcasters pay attention to that.

Speaker 2 00:29:09 They do. And one of the other things is I've actually found other people and other podcasts through the commenting. So I get a booster gram from say someone like Kyron from Mere Mortals. Mm-Hmm. . So I'll listen to his podcast and I'll boost them back. I mean, you start doing this whole feedback loop too, because you want to give them back value if you like something they said or if their podcast was really great. I mean, it's been where Craig Weinberg at the interview podcast. I've, I connect with him too and just be like, Hey, this is a great episode. Now I'm listening to past episodes and I'm boosting on the past episodes because I wanna encourage podcasters as well and let them know, Hey, I'm listening. We want community. We like it that when we see people, listen, you're not just a stat your're actual person and fleshing blood, spending an hour of your day listening to us go on about whatever nonsense that we're talking about.

Speaker 1 00:30:02 Right. All podcasters Love interaction. Yeah. And podcasting 2.0. All these new features really help with that interaction. Hey, thanks for being on Wess and thanks for firing up Clean Feed to record this . Yeah, we had a little technical di you know, again, difficulty.

Speaker 2 00:30:20 Yeah. Again, we all have all these options available to us. Just, here's just another example. It's not a podcasting two thing, but it's a 2.0 thing, but it's another piece of technology that gets us on the air and gets us to make connections

Speaker 1 00:30:33 All very good. Please go listen to, uh, Wess and John, uh, talk about beer, bourbon and whatever balderdash balder dash. Yes. Very good. Thanks again. Thanks.

Speaker 2 00:30:44 I appreciate it, Mike.
